This procedure is used to remove the cancerous area, cervix, and uterus (total abdominal or vaginal hysterectomy). This procedure may be most useful for women who have had one or more relapse of cervical cancer and who no longer have enough tissue to perform another LEEP. Because it requires removal of the uterus, this procedure will prevent a women from having children in the future.
